SALES REPRESENTATIVE

​Job Type: Part Time

Dogleg Brewing Company is expanding its distribution arm and looking for an experienced and ambitious sales rep to help grow the business. Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in beer distribution and sales, extremely personable and goal-oriented. As a sales representative for Dogleg Brewing Company, you will help increase our outside sales accounts while ensuring quality control, elevating the Dogleg brand and supporting/building strong relationships with wholesale and retail accounts, as well as customers.

    Responsibilities (but not limited to):

    • Achieve specified territory volume and distribution goals by establishing new accounts and maintaining/maximizing current accounts 
    • Communicate with retail accounts regarding brand, pricing, inventory, events, etc.
    • Increase Dogleg Brewing sales and brand visibility in designated territory by opening new accounts, expanding distribution, hosting promos, etc.
    • Establish positive rapport with new and existing accounts at each site, including (but not limited to) the buyer, operations manager, F&B manager, events coordinator, etc.
    • Work with active accounts on a weekly basis, plan/attend promos/staff trainings
    • Report to Sales & Distribution Manager and effectively implement new sales strategies 
    • Visit a minimum of 8+ accounts a day
    • Conduct wait staff/bartender educations, beer tastings, evening promotions and beer festivals
    • Know pricing of all Dogleg Brewing Company products plus general pricing of top craft and import beer competitors in market
    • Develop market specific customer target lists that align with the Dogleg brand
    • Streamline communication with active accounts to ensure orders are placed, products are received, business is growing at accounts
    • Oversee quality assurance of products delivered and stored
    • Follow up with accounts to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
    • Complete administrative procedures such as monthly recaps, monthly calendar, daily e-mail responses and weekly call reporting

    Required Skills/Experience (but not limited to):

    • Ideal candidates will live in central/north San Diego County
    • 1-2 years minimum of alcohol and/or beer-related sales experience
    • Strong knowledge and experience in the local marketplace
    • Highly motivated with an assertive, confident personality
    • Ability to work well both independently as well as with teams
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Ability to successfully receive constructive feedback and implement changes when necessary
    • LEAD/RBS Certified
    • General knowledge of craft beer and the brewing process
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to master the selling skills process
    • Knowledge of retailer operations, the invoicing/ordering process, etc.
    • Must be able to travel within San Diego County and have access to working vehicle
    • Must be able to work flexible hours/days, including weekend events
    • Computer competence in at least Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
    • Must have a clean driving record (Motor vehicle records checks will be performed on candidates)
    • Ability to lift and move kegs and cases of beer frequently, at least up to 65 pounds
    • Ability to climb, kneel and stoop to coordinate displays

    Compensation:  Dogleg Brewing Company’s compensation structure for this part-time position (20 hours)  includes an hourly wage, plus commission, 401k benefits and monthly gas stipend.

BEERTENDER

​Job Type: Part Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic beertender with a passion for craft beer to join our growing staff. Dogleg Brewing Company beertenders have an extremely important role as the front lines of our tasting room, brand and beer. Therefore, beertender applicants should be knowledgeable about the brewing process along with different styles of beers. Beertenders will also have opportunities to work beer festivals and other off-site events!

    Responsibilities

    • Provide excellent customer service to players
    • Interact with customers to develop and maintain a favorable public image. Answer questions and educate guests about Dogleg Brewing Company beer styles
    • Process all transactions through POS Square.
    • Maintain comfort and cleanliness throughout the tasting room, storage areas, cooler, and restrooms.
    • Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays. Prior work experience with a brewery, and/or bartender experience a plus.
    • Must be able to verbally communicate with customers and coworkers
    • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist and kneel for duration of shift.
    • Stock kegs and cooler as needed during shift. Check out all products per inventory procedures.
    • Upsell/promote merchandise, to-go beer, events, and daily specials.
    • Complete all paperwork involved in day-to-day operations (inventory sheets, keg order forms, incident reports etc.)
    • Assist with monthly inventory counts.
    • Report all equipment problems, bar maintenance issues, violations or substandard practices to the supervisor upon encountering a problem.
    • Attend staff meetings, events, and other functions as needed.
    • Educate guests about the staple and seasonal beers available on the current draft menu, the craft beer industry, and the differences between styles. Constantly work to increase knowledge of craft beer, including attending trainings and meetings put on by brewery management and/or related...
    • Have a passion for beer and the craft beer industry.

    Qualifications

    • Applicant must be of legal drinking age (21 years or older)
    • Must be available on the 4th Sunday of each month to run the events
    • Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
    • Excellent customer service skills and a Positive attitude are required
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Ability to read and write in English proficiently
    • Must have basic math skills and be able to use a calculator
